Dear Members and Friends, On behalf of the officers and directors of the Mid-Atlantic Security Traders Association, it is my pleasure to welcome you to our 73rd Annual Winter Conference. Our organization is comprised of members from four different states: Maryland, Pennsylvania, Delaware, & Virginia. All of us have come together to discuss the current issues that affect how and where we do business in our constantly and rapidly changing trading environment. The Mid-Atlantic Security Traders Association takes great pleasure in introducing our keynote speaker, Dr. Jeremy Siegel, who is a Professor of Finance at the Wharton School of Business. He has authored numerous professional articles and books. He is best known for his book, “Stocks for the Long Run”, which was named by the Washington Post as one of the ten-best investment books of all time. His current book, “The Future for Investors” was named one of the best businesses books in 2005 by Business Week, the Financial Times and Barron’s magazine. I strongly encourage you to join us for Dr. Siegel’s lecture Friday morning titled, “Investing in the Future”. He will be addressing changes to be expected in the years to come in productivity, immigration patterns, and retirement ages. Other topics to be covered will be: “What role will developed nations such as Brazil, Russia, India and China play on asset pricing and what trade patterns may look like.” and “What are the social and economic impacts of the retirement of the Baby Boomers?” I want to sincerely thank all of our very generous sponsors for their continued support. Because of your generosity, along with the dedication of the officers and directors on my board, this event continues to be a success year after year. Sincerely, Karen M. Regan |
